Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you know the thread size on QD couplings on JD 5083e.
Is it

3/4" NPTF
3/4"-16 ORB
7/8-16 ORB

Thanks,
Peter

Not to argue with zebra he is usually correct but I see them to be a 22mm orb both on rear scv and mid body scv.

my research agrees with Zebrafive for the male coupler tips(0.750 in) and 0.812 in for female coupler, This adapter between female coupler & hose is 22m on one end that I think attaches to hose.

I based my answer on the o-ring used (key 8) in the drawing. Part number 51M7045 19.3mm x 2.2mm
The might be other sizes used. different serial number breaks, or w/cab verses without cab. But I did not find them.

Sorry I was only looking at the female couplers on the 5083e not the male tips. Male tips can be whatever thread size you need just so long as the coupler body design is the ISO 1/2 industry standard the most common thread size for these tips in an orb will be 1/2". The female couplers used on the 5083e is re45822 and does use the 51m7045 oring.
RE45822 is 22mm which can also be referenced by the adapters used like the 61m5076 (orbm 22 for coupler side, 1/2" sae flat face for the line or hose) that is commonly used when the female coupler does not screw directly into a valve as it does many times for the loader valve (this is the fitting # I used to verify the 22mm connection, we can tell which end goes where by knowing that the female couplers are not flat face but orb). For orb connections on Deere equipment I don't think you will find many examples where a xxmxxxx oring part# is used on an sae connection. The oring for conventional 1/2 orb (physical measurement of .750) is p/n r26375, the oring for conventional 3/4 orb (physical measurement of 1.062) is r29936, where as 51m7045 is pretty much reserved for the 22mm orb, we can only use oring dimensions to identify the fitting size so long as it is already known if we are in the metric world or sae world. Hope this helps.

I see that I did not spell out all of the physical dimensions of 61m5076. The metric side is self explained but as a reference the .812 for a ff connection is a 1/2 ff fitting, sometimes also referenced as tube outside dia of 12.7. I also see that in my first response I am incorrect regarding the midbody couplers so the above info is only accurate for rear scv. Hope I did not make it too confusing.

Oops, feel like I am babbling now. Turns out I was wrong on being wrong. I was curious as to why I even thought mid's where the same to start with so double checked my work and found some parts catalog errors. In some instances the o-ring is shown on the wrong side giving the impression this coupler is a flat face design. That is not the case, mid body coupler is also a 22mm orb. Because of the errors I found I just went ahead an measured a coupler. There is also some errors with the rear coupler where in some instances it is also shown backwards, so I understand where a lot of the confusion is coming from.

Not to argue with zebra he is usually correct but I see them to be a 22mm orb both on rear scv and mid body scv.

I cleaned up mine, I see

female QD: M22x1.5 ORB, Parker part# 9012-008
male ball QD: 1/2"-14 NPFT, Parker part# 8010-4

Now I'm confused. I thought JD 5083e suppose to have 15.9 gpm pump flow, why the couplers are limited to 1/2". Parker #8010-4 male QD supports 12 gpm flow WTF?

Should JD install bigger QD and 3/4" hoses? Are there other 1/2" male QD tips that support 16 gpm flow? I also see slightly different sizes of hoses going to/from QD female to the valve. Each set of QD has one hose slightly larger than the other, why?

Now the question is what is the female thread in the valve (RE60527)? In case I want to replace one set of QDs with 3/4" QD female/male and run 3/4" hoses to the front and terminate with 3/4" QDs for the auger (or other FEL attachments).

this is what I have
John Deere RE60527 Selective Control Valve Factory Part JD | eBay

The rear ports go to the top 4 ports.
