2004 Kubota L3130hst
Tomorrow, my dealer is picking up my tractor for a routine service interval. I have a Kubota L3130 that is 2 years old this month. I have the L753 loader on it with the standard pin-on straight back bucket.

I just got to thinking of asking him about getting the quick-attach for pallet forks and such while he has it in his shop. Does anyone know if this would require a new bucket as well and what would be a reasonable cost for adding the QA? I don't like negotiating in the dark on such things, but it just dawned on me this would be a good time to get this while he has it in his shop.

Also, is this something I can add easily on my own and use the old bucket, or should it be dealer installed? I haven't seen the quick attach up close so I do not know how they differ. Sorry for th haste but I didn't think about this until this morning.

I believe that it would require a new bucket because of the way they connect to the tractor. the new bucket I would imagine will run around Several Hundred Dollars and the Quick attach would also run in the Several Hundred Dollor range and adding labor would probably bump it close to $2000.00 , but this is just a guess on my part.

I have the quick attach and it is nice to add the forks to move pallets around and also works great for logs and boulders. I can pick up large pieces of trees and move them easily, and also move some good size rocks.

I'm not sure about your FEL setup but the way loaders are configured I would think you would have to get a whole new FEL which would of course require a new bucket. You're talking about a few thousand there. I don't know, it may be possible to change the attachment apparatus on your current loader to quick-attach but I doubt it.

I don't know the answer but I would suspect that you could find pallet forks that hooked up using a basic two point attachment as opposed to the four link attachment you usually see with quick detach units. However, removing and re-attaching the bucket with the standard two pin configuration is tedious.

You can change almost any loader to a quick/attach, you can also convert any bucket to go on the change… And you can do it yourself. It’s easy and only will take you the time to pull the pins and then pin on the adaptor.
The handiest, because of the number of possible attachments is the skid steer adaptor, around $500, your Kubota dealer can order it in for you. The bucket adaptor is a couple hundred or you can cut off the pin on points and then weld skid steer plates, around a hundred dollars for the heaviest plates. In any case you will then be able to quickly and easily change attachments to many other things, not just forks…

Hi Jay,
Thanks… You know I love my L4200….
This is another type attachment you can use on your loader with a skid steer attachment. KennyV.

AS KennyV said the Quick Attach adapter is no big deal to install. You might talk to your dealer about a swap for a QA bucket particularly if he has a used one in the yard. Long time dealers are apt to have most anything around. Modifying your bucket means some cutting and welding but doable.

I guess the QA adapter makes sense. I'm sure you're not the first person to want to switch to QA and there is obviously a demand for it. It looks pretty slick. A little pricey but looks very high quality. Also, less expensive than getting a whole new FEL.

KennyV--that's one cool looking tractor. What do you use that QA lift hook for?

Hey KennyV, is that boom from DirtWorks? I seen one like it on their web site. I am think of getting one next summer to set trusses in the pole barn I hope to finally build. How high can you reach?
