Rhino 4134--40hp (98)
I'm looking at a 40hp Rhino. Late 90s. Approximately 400 hours. I'd appreciate hearing from someone who has or currently owns one. It has a FEL and I'll add a backhoe if I get it.

The usual stuff:Dependable? Capable?

Thanks

I've had my Rhine International 2220 for almost 6 years. Only needed a starter solenoid and new rod ends. Motor has one small leak. Easy fix if I ever get around to it. Motor is still strong and starts right off everytime. I have 298 hours on mine and I have worked it hard and it has held up good.

If you do get it a good place for parts is farmboystractors.com They are only Rhino part distributor that I know of so that's a down side to owning a Rhino.

Thanks Randy, that is good to hear. I did buy it and have used it a little. It is strong and doing the work I need.

Thanks for the tip on Farmboys, I got the manual from them.

My Rhino International shelled it's clutch today and busted out a piece of the bell housing the size of a lemmon. Crack goes half way around to the other side. Cleared the parts out after I removed the side panel. Engine still runs just fine. From there back everything is trashed.

Oh well Life goes on. LOL I'm not going to fix it. Not worth it.

Randy, that sounds like a very catastrophic failure? can you tell what gave? to take out the bellhousing, it would have to be the clutch cover or flywheel I guess. This Rhino appears to be the Jinma made one so parts would be available if you wanted to fix it or in some demand if you decided to sell as is. you might want to mention what part of the country you are in. you may find a buyer. Maybe someone wants to put the engine ina pickup!

Here's a link below to the damage. Looks like part of the pressure plate broke cause them to jam up braking out the side of the bell housing. I'm in Oklahoma. 35 north of Tulsa. I'm just going to buy e new tractor. Either a New Holland or a Deere. Forgot to say the piece that broke off the bell housing came back and hit me in the ankle. Didn't hurt to much but did scare the **** out of me.

Randy;
The bellhousing can be welded, I have done them before.
The parts in the Pic's look like pressure plate parts. Bet it wouldn't be that bad to fix, some labor involed but doable.

A new clutch and some nickel rod and it will be ready for another 5 years. Since you have to split the tractor to fix the clutch, you can even weld from both sides. OR if you just want to trade it in on a new tractor, come see me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif only 58 miles from the OK state line in Arknasas on I 40... I could use it for parts or fix it up with some parts I have here... Maybe a new Kioti or Farmtrac if you don't want to get another Chinese tractor... (even JD and NH are mostly foreign) PM or email if you have any interest.

Hi bluechip,

I would like new tractor. My Rhino is only a 2 wheel drive and I'm at the point on my 5.5 acres I need a stronger tractor. I would prefer buying something other then a JD or NH because they are so costly. I would like a 30hp motor and no less then 25 on the PTOhp. 4x4 with FEL and a sub frame mount backhoe with a 13" bucket. My Rhino is clean and does run pretty good except for the clutch. I would like to trade it in if I can. I know I'm gonna take a hit for the clutch but I know it going to take some hefty labor hours to fix it also. Here's a web site showing a few close up pics of the tractor before the clutch let go.

I do like the look of this series of the FarmTrac.

Does it come in a 30hp series able to handle a backhoe and FEL? Also where are they manufactured?

I like the look of the Kioti CK30 series but it's sure a small tractor and low to the ground but looks real meaty/powerful from the rear. Also, where are they manufactured? Need it fitted the same way with FEL and backhoe. Does the ROP's fold down on the CK30? I need to be able to that because of trees.

Would like a quote for both shifter and shuttle on both. I'll fire off my personal email to you to reply back.
