I have narrowered it down to a kUBOTA MX5000 4x4 with a LB702 FEL or a New Holland TC48DA 4x4 with a 18LA FEL. They are both in the same price range. I will be primarily using the tractor for field mowing with a 6ft bush hog. I currently own a L3400, but it's time to upgrade. I'm hoping for some good feedback.

Thanks

Is the Kubota from the same dealer you purchased the L3400 from? If so and you have had good luck from that dealer then the is where I would would tend to get.

There is nothing wrong with either rig. Which one do you feel the most comfortable with and which dealer do you think is going to be best after the sale, that is where I would go.

I don't know about "good" feedback, but I went with NH for ergonomics. The Kubota seat did go up and down and with my long legs I needed to be able to raise the seat up. I have not looked at a MX5000, does it have height adjustment?

Ditto also here with Doc Bob. The NH ergonomics fit me like a glove. The Kubota maybe a bit more tractor than the TC48. I especially liked the NH 18LA, even though once more, the Kubota may lift a bit more. I especially didn't like the shifter in between my legs. Reminded to much of the older iron. Thought Kubota could have improved on that. The fender mounted FEL joystick on the NH is the ticket for me though. Both good machines, tough choice. Good Luck. Either would serve you well, if you need the manuverabilty, the NH maybe better. More grunt for real Ag work, the Kubota maybe the better choice. Keep us posted, and some pics of your choice.

Thanks for everone's advise. Murph if you can believe it the dealer I bought my L3400 offers both brands, but wants $2000.00 more + taxes on the MX5000. If I drive 2 hours out of state I will save around $2654. I would like to keep my business with them, but that's a lot of money and the great sales man I worked with a few years ago is no longer with them. If I take care of the tractor I really should not have to bring it in very often.

I have not been on a Kubota in a while but from the ones I was on I did favor the New Holland as others have said because of the ergonomics. When buying my intent was a Kubota. But Kubota being a long ways away and the sales person being kind of errogant I went with New Holland and have never thought twice about it.

Good luck in your decision.
