Is there any way to do a pulley swap on a mower with a Hydro-static transmission

Sure , why not? To start with remove the pulley so that you get the right hub style. Some are splined and some are keyed. Google the model of the transaxle and you will likely find different applications which could have a different sized pulley. Or pop into a OPE dealer and see what they have .

My overall goal is to make the tractor go faster so my plan is to essentially swap power for speed

How much faster you thinking? Saying if your top speed is 6 mph. How much more you trying to get? Belt changes will come into play. As will your belt guides.

RPM x drive pulley / by driven pulley will give you driven pulley RPM. Same formula for a dozen pulleys on jack shafts or whatever. RPM x all the drive pulleys / by all the driven pulleys gives final driven pulley RPM.

Just incase you missed it in your other thread about this subject:

I aint going to comment on speeding up the transmission. I will tell you that if your Craftsman hydrostatic is a k46 model, you are doomed to a very fast failing transaxle. Those things have a bad rep even when used as intended. You may have better luck if your mower happens to have the k66 transaxle, and it might hold up a little longer if you change out the transaxle pulley for one a little smaller in dia.

As for more info, the k46 transaxle is considered non-serviceable. Replacements start at around $600, but if your handy with tools, you can buy enough parts for a rebuild.
