It all started last year when I backed my finish mower over a bank & stalled the tractor when the blades hit. Besides the safety factor I was getting tired of either having to shut the tractor off to change attachments or disconnect the PTO shaft just to do a loader job like take the trash out.
I was quoted $1500. to $2000. in labor + parts by 2 different dealers so I talked to one of the mechanics at work & Saturday 5/23 we towed it to his house.
Day 1 Saturday had it to the point of being able to split the cases & decided that was enough for the day.
Day 2 Sunday split the cases & determined what parts are needed. We never did find the "missing" snap ring & will be putting magnets on the drain plugs & in the bottom of the cases.
There are 2 different snap ring type retainers or a later bolt & washer design that I decided to spend the money on.
I am also going to rebuild the 3 point hitch cylinder while I'm this far into it as it leaks down faster then I want to deal with anymore.

"InkedBOTA 5 24 20" the red dot shows where the spring, clutch dog & the missing snap ring go, the red circle is the spring & clutch dog on top of the rear trans. case.
