Kubota L2900 GST
I have a Kubota L2900 GST which has a rear PTO that will not disengage. It worked flawlessly until about a month ago. I've looked at the linkage of the engagement lever and all apprears to be functioning properly [engagement lever activates cable, cable slides freely in sleeve, cable activates arm under tractor (on transmission?)].
I'm unsure if this is related but the hydraulic fluid was 3 qst low. I filled to the proper level and run the tractor for about 1 hr with no change in PTO.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Let me know if you need additional information.

The tractor will have to be split. There is a clip that holds one of the pto cam gears in place that is known for comming off. Kubota has replaced the clip with a bolt to keep it in place.

I had this happen on my L4200 the other day. I had a coke can that got in the way of the lever and it didn't disengage when I closed it. I cleaned everything up and still couldn't get it to disengage. I fiddled around with the lever under the tractor where the cable hooks into the housing and it popped back in place after a few tries and it disengaged.

I've been nervous about it ever since and haven't engaged the pto yet though to know if it is okay or not.

Thank you for the replies.
Splitting the tractor sound expensive. Does anyone know the approximate cost of getting this repaired. Is if a job that can be done youself?

Your looking at about 10 to 14 hours labor depending on how experienced your shop is. Depending on your mechanical abilties depends on the do it yourself factor, I wouldn't call this job a typical do it your self project. You will also need to purchase the upgraded parts which I believe is still available in kit form. Probably looking at about 1200.00 for the repair at a dealer.

Just an update on my PTO. I crossed my fingers and engaged it yesterday when I had the tractor out and it disengaged on the first try.

I guess my problem wasn't that extensive thankfully!

Any update on yours ddudeck?
