PTO shaft to short

Just a note when buying a new tractor and you have existing equipment , your PTO shafts might not be long enough . As I found out to today when I hooked up my woods B106 rotary cutter to my DK40SE for the first time . Just didnt think about that when I started looking to replace my ford 3600 . I was also worried about the front end being light with that mower on the back so I had the front tires filled . I shouldnt have worried ! It did great as far as handling the weight of the mower , but I will have to wait till I get a new PTO shaft to see how it cuts . It hasnt disappointed me yet !

Then there are the situations where you buy something for your existing tractor, hoping that you will be able to somehow get it to work after some fair amount of tinkering.
How nice when you find it just hooks up and works with nothing more than a shot of grease in the zerks.
My $75 woods rm60 was like that.
