PTO Shaft Coupler Question

I need to purchase a PTO shaft "coupler" but can't seem to find what they call it. The part I am wanting to purchase has half the coupler on the PTO shaft from the tractor and the other half stays on the implement when separated. They are covered in plastic. It also allows the implement to slide a bit where it couples. What are resellers calling this part? Thanks.

My entire PTO shaft stays with the implement when I remove it from the tractor. Most tractors use an 1 3/8" - 6 spline coupler push button or collar type release. The implement end can vary but most use an 1 3/8" keyed coupler.

If you are missing the half of the PTO shaft that attaches to the tractor you can probably order it from the dealer that sells the implement brand. Tractor supply stores have some complete PTO shafts and sell replacement ends separately. Sliding PTO shafts shapes can vary. A lot have triangle shaped inner and outer tubes as shown in the link but some like on my snow blower are square tube.

It's very dark in the barn but the implement side is much easier to see. The part that attaches to the PTO spline is hanging on the wall behind the tractors and there isn't much light.

I don't understand what part you need. You have both halves. One is on the implement and the other half is on the wall. The 2 pieces slide together.

I have both halves for that implement, but not the one in question. Here is the picture of the belly mower with half the attachment on it but missing the other half..... I am trying to locate the other half and learn how to properly measure it.

Your Yanmar dealer should be able to look it up in his parts book. Its the Yanmar mid mount mower for your Yanmar tractor and would require the PTO shaft for that attachment. The new one should come with a push button or collar type release that will easily disconnect from the mid PTO so it stays with the implement. I'm not sure if your tractors mid mount PTO shaft is the same 6 spline as the rear PTO.
If you want to figure out the shaft length on your own you would have to hook remove the half on the attachment then hook the attachment up to the tractor and measure from the attachment to the PTO spline. I believe one of the links I posted makes custom length PTO shafts and they could help you out.

I will look in the manual for the YQM-48 belly mower to see if it lists the part number. Continental made the mower for Yanmar if the dealer is correct. It has the square instead of the splined shaft on the inside. The rear PTO has the six spline male shaft, and this belly mower does connect off the rear PTO. You can slightly see the shaft in question in this photo. One thing that struck me as strange is that in the front it simply hooks up to the frame with chains. Thank you for your assistance.
