Hello guys, this old man needs some help. I start having some issue connecting the pto shaft to the tractor, I just don't have the strength in my arms and back like I once did.
I have been looking online for something to help and came across this thing call Pto Connect. it seems like it would help but I would like to get some advice before I commit to it.

I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking at. To me the traditional PTO connector has six splines to match the ones on the tractor. You start slipping it on then push a button until your thumb aches while sliding it the rest of the way. Release the button, pull back, and it latches. My new PTO connector has like a big rubber wheel around it. I start the connector onto the tractor then turn the big rubber wheel to unlatch the ball and allow the parts to slip together. Then I turn the big rubber wheel the other way to engage the latch. I learned the hard way you must turn it back to engage the latch or the PTO shaft will work back off when you start to mow. Turning the big tire is easier than holding the spring loaded button. I'm still getting used to it. You can probably get that type yoke for older shafts but be sure to get one for the correct size U joints.

Don't have one but looks like only one on the market where you don't need to have the tractor PTO and implement shaft splines oriented. Plus couples and de-couples very easily. At $370 don't know how many will buy.

I can't post any links but there is a video on youtube if search pto connect.

For those who have difficulties with attaching PTO shafts due to physical conditions, I think the connector system is worth the money.

They are expensive but solve the problem. I’m getting to the point where my arthritic hands are needing some help. I can see me one day, purchasing a system like this.

If you have the pull back type, replace it with a push button one. Those pull back types are reverse ergonomics. You gotta pull back on a collar while pushing it onto the PTO. Have the PTO in "off" position to start it on with the other hand. Then use both hands on the PTO.

I've found many of the push button catches to be extremely difficult to operate. I now take apart and polish the pin to move easier. Often the spring is much too strong and needs replaced with a lighter one. Cleaning and re-lube often works wonders.

A big minus on any of these adaptors is they add length to the PTO shaft. Some shafts will need to be resized and cut down.

This is where I'm at.

The reason for manufacturers moving to pull back collars probably has something to do with not grabbing clothes as quick.

I agree with you! I got my first PTO powered implement yesterday (a BH215) and that Pull-back collar is stupid! I miss the old push button style we had on the farm when I was growing up. I may very well see if i can find a suitable push button style and swap it in.

Hmmm, maybe quality has changed in 35 years (no surprise). All of ours worked great on 2 sickle mowers, baler, and a couple brushhogs. Now granted when first purchased they could be stiff, we just oiled them and hit them with a hammer a few times then they worked great.
