PTO does not engage

I have a 4110 Tractor, i'm unable to engage PTO. The control switch is on manual and the PTO on/off switch lights up when I push it. The button and dash light comes On but does not engage. Can you please suggest me what should I do.

Either there is a bad or broken electrical connection (positive or negative) to the pto solonoid, located under the right foot rest, or the solonoid is stuck. Check the posts by me from a couple of years ago and you should find the explanation on how to free the solonoid.

I hope its not the porblem with solenoid. Is there any problem with rear axle oil, shall i change it,

It is most likely the solonoid needs lubrication, which I have explained in some earlier posts. Look up my earlier posts.

Are you sure the PTO lever is NOT in neutral? This embarassingly happened to me. My foot had knocked into neutral.

I agree, that is common on this model if the PTO has not been engaded for a while, and easy enough to clean and fix.

I don't even lubricate mine when it has that problem. I depress the little button that faces the rear of the tractor a couple of times with a small screwdriver and it frees it up.

It happened to me Saturday, had the bush hog hooked up for the first times since late fall. Hit the button to engage the PTO and nothing happened. Shut down the tractor depressed the button on the solenoid (under the right side of the floor board) a couple of times. Restarted the tractor, pushed the PTO button and away I went.

For those of us that either didnt copy the PTO solonoid intructions or whos PC puked, and cant seem to search past a year, could ya post them again?

Mine just decided not to work, pushed in the little button, NG, the thing has power, I can feel the magnet holding the screwdriver.
