Doesn't everybody on this forum have at least one that they aren't using?

I went to Lowes and purchased a short piece of plastic hose, along with a cap. Both are located in the plumbing department. I glued the cap on to the end of the hose. Painted it and with the hose having a little bend to it and grease on the PTO shaft it stays on great.

That's a great idea. A number of years ago I foolishly set the PTO cap on the fender when changing an implement and forgot about it. I was aghast at how much it would cost to replace that simple rubber cap with an OEM Kioti part and have just lived without...but it would be nice to keep that greasy shaft from attracting lots of dust when I don't have any PTO implements hooked up.

When making a cap from PVC pipe, you can cut a perpendicular notch in the pipe to coincide with the latch groove of the PTO shaft. Then stretch a suitably sized O-ring over the PVC so the O-ring material goes in just past the pipe ID so the O-ring catches the latch groove. With the cut the right depth it slides on and off easily while latching in position. Hint, cut the notch shallow at first an then use a file to get to the right depth.

Good idea!
