When the Hydro oil gets warm the 1430 seems to steer hard. Have any of you ever had this problem?

It's probably because your garage is too clean....

In all seriousness, I've never experienced that issue with the steering. I've only had an issue with the FEL controls not responding if the steering is cranked all the way to one side or the other, and that's due to the power-beyond port on the steering valve that feeds the FEL/aux PTO valve bank. But the steering has always responded no matter the temperature. I'll be following this thread for more helpful replies. Good luck.

No idea on your tractor but used a friends Allis Chambers that did this. It would be real hard and then hit a soft spot and not operate best I can recall, been few years back. Friend who has tractor garage said either it was getting air in the suction line or water was in the fluid and when it was getting hot turning into steam. Check your fluid when it does these and see if it looks normal or like water or air in it. Color will change with water and may have air bubbles in it. The oil on the dipstick will probably be enough to tell.

I was wondering if it would be something like that; air getting in or pressure being built up somewhere it shouldn't. I actually called down to Tazewell and told them my problem, and they said its definitely the hydraulic cylinders that are used for the steering. Because when the oil is cold it doesn't escape as fast through the bad seals, but when the oil is warm, it does. So, I'm going to pack them up and send them down to be rebuilt. I'm just wondering if that relief valve isn't set right, because there aren't many hours on my tractor ( 190 .)

Wow! That demo on how to rebuild the cylinder is great! That will definitely be helpful! Do you guys think there may have been a reason why the cylinder seals went bad prematurely?
