Toro 266H and PT422
Re-reading through the PT manual again, (cold week-end), it talks about a permissive that will not allow the PT 422 to start unless the PTO is off and the tredle centered. I took off my tunnel side plates to lube the tredle, but do not see any switches or wires that would indicate a centered tredle. Anybody know how the centering of the tredle is sensed? No wires at the hydro back assy either.

having worn out one starter on my pt425, due to the fact that i stalled the engine for various reasons, i can tell you only that if you do not have the pedals absolutely level you may be in for a surprise. it mostly happens if ones clubfoot is on the backup pedal a little too much ... you start that thing and off it shoots to the rear, hopefully with no one behind.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for your reply.

With the very cold weather up here in the Northeast, the ole PT turns over a little slow on start up with all that thick oil.
