I'm adding hydraulics to the front for a grapple and will be running two 14' x 1/2" hydraulic hoses from the rear remotes. I want to protect them with some sort of sheathing. Either cover them individually with 1.15" sheathing and tie them together with cable ties or run them both in a 2" sheathing. Which do you think would work easier/better. Any advice from your experience would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’d use a separate sheath for each hose, simply in case I have to replace just one hose at some point. Just makes the change a little easier.

My experience in this application is not so much abrasions to the lines (the purpose of typical hose sheaths) but snagging them with/by usually a stick and not noticing it before a fitting gives up a you loose you're hyd oil usually resulting in repairs beyond just the hoses.
I'd recommend higher (not the lowest point on the tractor) hose placement assuming that your running from the rear remotes to the loader and steel guarding where this is not possible.
The best thing is to bite the bullet and add the 3rd function with a factory style installation.
These hose sheaths are fine ones you get the lines up on the loader where possible abrasion might occur. 👍
Very cautious and aware operation when NOT in an open field with today's tractors, big or little needs to be practiced. Tractors may look rugged, but the belly is very soft with vulnerable hyd lines, wiring and filters. There's many instances here (TBN) over the years to attest to this. 👍

That nylon sheath is best for protecting the hoses from the sun. Use single runs. But either will work just fine.

I use the the nylon sleeves on the individual hoses. For two reasons; abrasion and I think it keeps them from dry rotting from the sun as fast. i terminate the end with this style of clamp (Nippers make them good and tight).

I ordered the 1.15" size. I will try my best to route them above any metal lines down low and be aware of the snag issue. They will only be pressurized when I am running the grapple but that also seems like the most likely time to snag them.(grapple work) I will have to remember to do a visual leak check each time I hook them up.

I will also see if it is possible to add a 18-16ga sheet metal guard plate where necessary , thin enough so crunching it does not do more damage than not having it at all.

Thank you for your help and insight.

If you develop a substantial hyd fluid leak is there any obvious warning sign before damage to the HST and pump system? In other words if your not brain dead can you catch it in time. :)

Also if one leaks it's easier to determine which one it is,

In your situation using the rear remotes it would only dump oil (if damaged) when you activate the lever. You should notice that the grapple or other hyd attachment is moving slowly or not at all so it shouldn't be a catastrophic all at once "event" draining all of the fluid, and leaving the levers alone you should be able to drive back to your shop.

I did similar on my M5030DT to run a grapple using a rear remote. Single sleeve for both 1/2” lines. Used Gates nylon hose protector from hydraulic shop. Welded on three line clamps to help support the lines. Over twenty years without any problem.
