Apparently OSHA (yes I misspelled it in the thread title) is proposing a rule that would treat ammo and primers the same as regulated high explosives, which would mean very stringent handling and storage rules would apply - making it extremely expensive to ship or store ammo and essentially impossible to sell it at retail. I know this sounds a bit wacko, but read the link below from the National Shooting Sports Foundation:
NSSF

Same info from NRA-ILA:
NRA-ILA :: Current Legislation - State

I doubt that this regulation will be passed in the way proposed, but if you own guns and would like to be able to buy ammo for them in the future, it would be a good idea to submit comments as described on the link.

Note that July 12 is the deadline for comments, so send comments immediately if this issue interests you.

Yeah...back door gun control is what most gun related forums are calling it.
Please do comment and let your friends know about this too.

Afternoon Guys,
That stinks !!! If they cant take away the guns, lets try another angle ! :(

As Z mentions, you need to contact your elected officials and convey your feelings on this subject ! Complacency, will only hurt all the gun enthusiasts !

Scott, follow the link the Z provided and make your comments there.

That's the first step...and do it today.

Then, make sure your friends know about this.

We need that comment time extended first...

Do you realize that if you reload, if by chance the feds come to your door for whatever reason, under the Patriot act, you could be considered a terrorist?

Things get scarier and scarier both from within and from without. So now we have to start to stockpile ammunition (for sport and protection) and give law enforcement officials the proof that we are terrorists when they "legally" enter our homes for reasons possibly understood only by our fourth branch of government? Hey Roy:

You look a little more "grizzled" in your new avator.

That's because I am more grizzled. The other pic was several years old...and there's a lot of grey in the beard now (well, beard is gone now).

So if this passes, I'm opening an ammo shop and get rich!

I won't have any employees, so I won't be subject to OSHA regulations.:D

Then follow the instructions per the OSHA site...and help make sure it doesn't pass!
