I went through the same thing. Hang in there.
All the gizmotronic stuff takes more unlearning, than learning.
Make sure you have the range and gear selector engaged, before flipping the reverser lever.
If it's happening after you get out and back in the cab, make it a habit to leave the range selector in neutral before getting out, because you're gonna bump it to neutral anyhoo.
There is a definate rythm to operating the things, and it's much different than the Gear tractors we are used to.
I figure after another week of spring tilling, getting out to kick drip line back where it belongs, and then back in, every 10min., I'll get a handle on it myself.
Are ya having issues not using the clutch?
Gave me a headache trying not to.
