Propane water heater usage.

I wondered if converting ours from propane to electric is the way to go. Electricity pricing is regulated too. Propane prices go everywhere.

I had a quote to replace our 75 gallon LP at $1400 with another LP tank, as I think the dip tube has disintegrated.

Dip tubes used to be replaceable. If it is a plastic tube that has melted, you may also want to replace the t&p valve to be sure it isn't blocked with melted plastic and still is operable.

Many of the propane companies around here charge by your usage. The more you use the lower the price per gallon. My supplier priced me for 1000 gallons per year. When I told them I was planning on installing a high efficiency furnace they said if my usage dropped below 1000 gallons my price per gal would go up. The natural gas co is giving significant rebates to switch to a high AFUE furnace but the propane co痴 just want you to pay more for using less, that痴 like the gas station charging you $12.00 a gallon to fill your hybrid and $2.00 a gallon to fill your V8 truck

HI IF YOUR GAUGE SHOWED 20% A FEW DAYS LATER ON A 250 GALLON TANK.THEN THAT IS ONLY 50 GALLONS THAT YOU RECEIVED /OR WAS IN IT YOUR TANK AT THAT TIME. ID DOUBLE CHECK /WATCH AS HE PUMPS IT. ALSO YOU SHOULD GET A GAUGE READING TICKET SHOWING HOW MUCH THE TRUCK PUMPED..SAM

I was here at the same time the truck was I stood right there over that gauge to make sure it was zeroed when he startd and i got a printed ticket this time. the tank said 40 percent and the ticket said 42 so Im fairly happy now. The gauge is one of those little magic gauges that the set over the old deterioted one. Now if we can figure out a where the power company got 96 bucks from my shop thats been turned off at the main for 2 months we ll be ok lol. I dont trust the gas company after remebering how bad they hit us after the house burned when I was little. A friend of mine works for a propane company and has caught alot of drivers skimming and have caught mistakes with their trucks meters to.
