Well, after FINALLY getting around to trying to fill my profile in again after being erased back then... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I REALLY tried to shorten the bio:
4 years US Coast Guard (1 year S.E. Asis). World traveler for 1.5 yrs after discharge. Motorcycled Spain to Thailand . Met wife on trans-Siberian RR in '70. Married in Japan in '72 after we travelled a bit. Grad Sophia U. in Tokyo. Live in self-designed/built home. Two girls, one married, younger is 29.
I give up! Why is this too long? I think this bio in the profile is about useless if five lines is too long!
What am I doing wrong? Where is the instant face for 'Frustrated???"
There doesn't seem to be a bunch of empty lines below my text...
I guess I could write:
Hi, my name is Bill. I was born in Pgh. I live in Pgh now. I think I will die in Pgh. Pgh is a good place. My wife likes Pgh too. TBN is as good as Pgh. Life is good...space for bio is too small. I don't like that too much! I love my wife and tractors...
Gee...I just tried it and that doesn't work either!
Makes me want to say "Water held back by an earth embankment!" No, dike is not the word I am thinking of at the moment...Come to think of it I feel more like saying " I see a dog stopped by the curb there!"
Well, I cut it to:

And that worked...guess I will leave it at that. Sure wish the bio could take more than three lines and a word though... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Those are bio-box lines, by the way.
PS...I know the limit is stated as 250 characters. Perhaps someone could explain this limit. I don't think this is enough space to be meaningful or useful. Perhaps that is just me and I can live with that. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
