I have a 1950 to-30 Ferguson tractor. The motor will turn over but it won't crank. Any suggestions?

A little more information whould be helpful. I flunked Mind Reading 101-ask my wife!
Are you saying you can turn the engine over by hand but the starter won't crank the engine over? Does it have the OEM starter system? Does the starter make a whirring noise when you push the transmission lever to the S position. If it does than the starter drive needs replacing. If it doesn't make any noise, it could be a bad connection, bad ground, corroded battery terminals, corroded battery cables, bad starter switch, bad battery or bad starter.
I can't be of more help with out more info.

so far you have told us the engine is free but starter won't turn it.
when you get it rollig over.. does it have spark.. good spark on all 4 plugs?
if so.. will it bang on start fluid sprayed into carb mouth with throttle open?
