Why wait? I was one of the TC-24D owners that had all the bolts between the engine and the bell housing loosen up and had oil hydro dripping as a result of straining the input shaft seal. The bottom 4 all easily took two to three full turns. I was lucky to catch it early and had seen the problems reported here by others. I pulled the machine in the garage and took it apart enough to get at all the bolts, took them out one at a time and coated with loc tite. The seal "healed" itself with the restored proper alignment, at least that is what I think happened. I recently did my 600 hour service (3 months after tightening the bolts) and everything was bone dry and the bolts/nuts tight. I recommend the loc tite right away.
As far as the original question on the housing, it seems that NH needs a lot of pressure before helping out. The backing of your dealer also helps a lot. Seems like a very high price for the repair. I was quoted between $500 and $600 to split my tractor and replace the input shaft seal. Can the casting for the bell housing cost that much? I really don't know, just thinking out loud. Good luck with getting it repaired.
