Hello and thanks for reading. I am reading through the forums now but if anyone can direct me to past posts that are relevant or provide new info that would be great.
I have a Ford 1500 tractor with the two cylinder diesel and the Kiki injector pump. While I was out of town for several weeks someone put bad fuel in it and it died, I came back to find it full of water that had been in the bottom of the fuel barrel. I drained and cleaned out the tank, drained everything possible and got clean fuel back to the pump but couldn't get anything fuel to the injectors so I pulled the lines and pulled the spring loaded lift covers off to clean them out and I soaked everything in penetrating oil over night. Today I was able to lift the plungers out and with the valve open to the fuel tank I have clean diesel running though very slowly so I'm pretty sure all the water is out of the system now. I put my fingers on top of the plungers and with the engine spinning I can feel them go up and down a very small amount, probably 1/16" at best. Next with the lines still off but the plunger caps and springs back in place and clean diesel filled to the top where everything should be fully primed I ran the engine a few seconds on ether to see if any fuel was actually pumping. It is not, in fact if anything the fuel leaked back down in the holes further when I tried that.
My thoughts are that perhaps theres a pressure portion of this pump that feeds the fuel lifter valves with a check valve or something and that portion of the pump is somehow stuck and not making pressure anymore. I'm an experienced mechanic and not scared to tear into it but I would like to know more about it first, maybe there's an easy fix and I'm not seeing it yet.
Thanks for the help
