Rake Pricing question - skid steer york rake

A friend is selling a skid steer york rake - guessing 7 feet or so, with hydraulic adjustment. He used to rent out attachments with his bobcats (owns a lumber yard) but has gone to bobcats only as attachment rental as a sideline was too much of a pain.

What's a fair price for it? Assume its been used like a rental, but still functional.

You can find used York rakes in good shape for $500. (And you can drive forward when you're raking..)

The hydraulic angle and SS mount will likely add ~$250 - I'd guess.

But, it's a rental - I'd wanna look it over real hard. Bent, broken tines. Worn-out short tines on the edge of the rake, etc.

Gotta ask, though. Why would you put that on the front of your M59 so you can rake backwards?!? I'd probably scrap the SS mount and use the 3pt with the hyd angle.

I have rear rakes - 2 reasons for getting a front one. Easy on/off with skidsteer mount, nice to drop the bucket, gather stones etc, then put the bucket back on, whereas I fear mounting and dismounting the hoe. (Though in fairness I haven't done it yet).

Also, for getting into tight spaces I find working forward easier.

So I bought it for $1k. Seems like its fair from what people have said.
