Hi all,
I don't know if this should be in the Massey or the Other Brands forum, so I apologize in advance if in the wrong forum.
I just wanted to know if anyone had any idea if I got a fair price: AGCO ST32 Hydro with SL44 FEL, new but 2005 model (a couple of hours on it). Price; $17,100. I am not using financing, paying out of my own pocket. I think about $500 lower would be more fair, anyone with current pricing info on this particular tractor?
Thanks in advance!
Shannon

Oops, I see now I should have put this in Buying/Pricing/Comparison category. Anyone know how to move a post to the right category?

sk, Your post is fine where it is... IMO your price for a new 2005 could be a little high (like you said maybe $500) but that all depends on your region...

My thing is ,when I was looking for my tractor I was going between AGCO & Massey and the AGCO's were more $$ for the same tractor, then I got wind of others that had priced the AGCO for less , so it's the luck of the draw (again a regional thing ,I suppose)

The real deal is you got a good tractor that you will enjoy and do the work you need done and the $500 will melt away as you use your tractor for those neccessary tasks.... ( I should be a therapist or at least in therapy:p )

Nasty135,
Thanks for the reply. I agree, it is a VERY nice tractor. I have owned other brands (Case DX33, Cub Cadet, and Kubota) and I like the Agco/Massey tractors best I think.
The thing is I had been in the week before and had the same guy tell me it was 16,500, and a week later he said 17,100 and claimed he didn't say 16,500. Now my wife says I am paranoid and probably made up in my mind that he said 16,500, but I swear that is what he told me!
What I did is I bought a different tractor from him the week before (Chinese, don't like the gears on my hills) under the assurance that I could return if I didn't like. Well I am returning and getting the Agco. Maybe he is just covering the hassle of returning by upping the price $600 dollars, and maybe I should just consider that fair.

sk, Nothing like selling the same tractor twice making a little profit each time:cool: (doesn't get much better than that) gives him more leeway the next time...can't blame him as long as the amount is reasonable...But I would also hope he would cut the deal as close to the original price as possible

Sounds like you should've bought the AGCO first time around, Hind sight is always 20/20:(

Yeah, I lose a little bit of my leverage now that I am sitting on a tractor of his that I don't want. Could have/should have been a cash buyer last week for the AGCO, then I would have been in the driver's seat. But I will take your advice and try to get him at least closer to 16,500.
Was trying to save money by buying the Chinese (11,000 with loader) and probably will end up costing myself a little money. I need to learn to buy what I want the first time! I'll let you know how it turns out.
