A great tractor. I've seen the early 2000's Yanmar powered Deere 4 series with 5000+ hours and still going strong. If it is in good shape and can pass a good inspection It doesn't sound like a bad price.

In 2013 I purchased a 2001 4300 4x4 Hydro with loader 1550hrs for 12,500. Great tractor for my purpose.

Thank you, I am getting interested, can someone explain the synch reverse with shuttle shift. How good is this tranny

The trans is strong, it's only downfall is the clutch must be used with the reverser. The larger tractors have Powreverser which allow direction change without the clutch.

I just last weekend helped my neighbor make a deal on a 2001, 550hrs, 430 loader, R4 tires, 4x4, same transmission. Land Pride FDR2572 finish mower, a nice box blade, and a 3pt sprayer. garaged. Motivated seller (sold the house and couldn't take it with him) - got it all and a box of spare filters for $8k cash.

Here we are, five months later, and the neighbor is running the snot out of the 4300. I had a Harbor Freight quick attach sitting around in my workshop. It didn't like to hook up with my Chinese flail mower, so I never used it. I gave it to the neighbor, and it works great for his implements. I put Pat's on mine, and that works for me.

Wet clutch..
Had a Deere 4400 sync-reverser. Of the 5 Deere's I've owned, the 4400 is in the top 2 of my favorites. If we had stayed in Pennsylvania, I'd probably still own it.
