Can anybody give me a recent purchase price on a Case DX35 with loader and rotary cutter? I'm in the market soon for a tractor, and right now, it's kind of a three-way tie between Kubota 3240, JD 3230, and MF 1533. They all seem to be kind of equivalent tractors, each with their own advantages in different areas. They also seem to all have decent dealerships. However, I didn't really look at the Case-IH's. I didn't think we had a dealer around here, but I passed a semi yesterday carrying two new Case tractors on it for delivery, so I looked and found one not too far away, but before I call them, I wanted to have some information so I wouldn't be going in totally blind. Also, if they're just too expensive, I don't want to waste his or my time.

I would stop in have thme give you a price. I bought a 2007 DX35 and the price was favorable. No issues with the tractor. I don't have a straight tractor price as I worked the DX into a larger deal.

I was happy so it was a good deal to me.

Last June, I bought a 2005 DX40 with 58 hours for $19200. It came with the loader and quick-detach bucket. New at the time was probably above $23k

RIght after I posted the message, I got a call from a dealer about 60 miles away. Here's the quote he gave me: D35 12X12 transmission, R4 tires, folding ROPS, telescoping 3-pt hitch, QA loader and bucket, canopy, Rhino EC-72 rotary cutter, 6' box blade, $22,250 delivered. Financing options are 1.9% for 48 mos., 2.9% for 60 mos. I didn't think that was too bad.

Also, though, I would be much more interested in your experience with your tractor. There are hardly any reviews of anything under the Reviews tab on this website.

BTW, where is the FEL control located? Is it on the "dashboard" or on the right side above the wheel?

Thanks for the pic. Yeah, I see the FEL control right there. The reason I was asking was that I thought the salesman said it was in front on the right of the steering wheel, and that kind of surprised me a little bit, but I may have misunderstood him. He might have been saying the console or something and I thought he meant the front. Anyway, I really liked the way the salesman talked, like his dealership would go all out after the sale. That made me feel better.

Jerry,

Here's a quote from a thread I posted about a year ago when I was in the same boat as you. Because of size/weight issues, I went with a DX33. The 19.4K was a negotiated price (he may have had a little more room). Good luck!

1. Have priced a "new" 2005 Case DX35 HST w/ R4s at $19,400 w/ 116 loader b/f $900 rebate. Tractor does not have a rear remote. Defintely a "holdover" on the lot in a slow area. Hard to get accurate read on price with age. Tractor definitely looks like it's been out for a while in the sun . . . ran fine today in a "test drive." General thoughts on asking price? (FYI -- in comparison to the MN DOT 2005 "factory code" the quoted price may actually be lower depending on the MN DOT loader cost).

2. Also, want to possibly add a backhoe-->which Rhino would you choose? 65A (NH 756C) (quote: $6100) w/ 9" bucket or Rhino 75 (NH 757C) at $6500. Primary tasks will be removing stumps for 6" to 12" pines and some larger hardwoods; also, working on ditches and some bottom land (6 ac.) to improve drainage (i.e. moving some "muck" around to create a shallow swale).

2A. Should I go with a 12" bucket vs. the 9"? [Soils are almost all sand, most of area around is used for borrow (barrow) sand pits.]

3. Also want to add a Woods 60" RFD6000v at $1800. This has been out on the lot a while too. Rust, etc. Alleged list was "sky high" says salesman!

4. Ballasting issues too: ballast box ($174) vs. wheel weights ($360 total max) vs. filling tires w/antifreeze ($75). Which would you do? Most of time will be spent mowing. Some areas are soft . . . Loader work will be mostly moving old trees and cutoffs, stumps, and distributing marl for driveway. I'm leaning towards wheel weights to be able to switch them off and to remove loader to minimize weight for mowing exercises.

This is in lieu of a new TC29DA priced at $18000 b/f $600 rebate w/ 14LA loader and R4s and a 757C at $6400 and Woods RD 60" at $1700. (Total 25500 w/ rebate).

I'd appreciate any input you might have on any of these issues . . .

Thanks, Chuckatuck

The Case DX and the New Holland TC series are the same tractor(though the NH line has the "supersteer" available. There is quite a bit more discussed about the new holland version.

I like myTC45D(had it one year, but it is a 2000) a lot.

Good luck,
Chris

Jarbill:

I have a DX29, which was the smaller of the two engine options when I purchased mine, the other being the DX33.

I got the tractor, FEL, QA bucket, Add-a-Grapple, one extra valve plumbed to both the grapple and a single rear remote, Ag tires, HST for A plan pricing. I traded in a Kubota B7100 and took advantage of the 0% interest deal, and am paying about $400 per month on the thing. I figure the price on the tractor without the grapple was about $18K.

I chose the DX over the JD, Kubota, Massey, Kioti, NH, and Mahindra based on how the seat and controls fit my body, lights, the location of what I deem "soft" parts that might get damaged when I use it in the woods -- fuel lines, hydro lines, wires, etc., the height of the ROPS vs. my doors, and several other items which may or may not mean something to you, depending on how you intend to use the tractor. I have 2 NH dealers and 2 Case dealers within about 25 miles of home. The dealer experience -- how they treated me when I was just browsing or just stopping in to look -- made up my mind on the final choice.

I'm coming up on 250 hours on the thing. My only problem was a blown O ring on the hydaulic pump due to improper install originally. That happened at about 20 hours. The dealer gave me several new rings, detailed instructions on how to fix it, a gallon of expensive Hy-Tran Ultra fluid, and a second cap for fixing it myself rather than having them come and get it or fix it at my place. Delivery was free and included as much time as I wanted with the delivery guy showing me the ins and out of caring for it.

Hi, Rich:

I went and looked at both a NH TC35A and a Case D35 today. I can't afford the hydrostatic transmission so I was looking at the 12x12 tranny. I liked both of them; however, I was surprised at how much difference there was between the two models as far as price. The dealerships were only about two miles apart. I really liked the NH salesman/dealership. It's the largest dealership around, I think, and I liked that delivery was free, transporting the tractor to and from the shop was free during warranty period (it's about 70 miles from our land) was free, and I think he said that even routine maintenance stuff like oil changes, if I needed help with that, they would even send someone out to help with it if I needed it. When I told him how far away I lived, he said, that didn't matter, that he had customers much farther away than that.

ALso, the Case D35's didn't have Case loaders on them. The dealer said that they stopped ordering the Case loaders, which I thought was kind of strange, and they went to a different brand. The control for the different brand also was located next to the steering wheel in a BIG mounting box and joystick that was kind of in-your-face. You couldn't even get on the tractor from the right side because of the joystick. The NH's had loader joysticks right on the right side. Much nicer.
