Any one have the prices of a boom Blade for a 430, maybe a 74", who makes the best and the simplest to install? How big can you go using a 4310 4WD?

IB,
I cannot tell you specifically for the 430 loader, but I assume it would be the same as with my 300cx. The boom blade for mine was about $1200.00 installed, meaning running the hydraulics and the extra lever needed for hydraulic angling, which I wanted. You can get manual angling, which is fine, the hydraulic is easier though. I believe a 72" blade is about the biggest I would get, though. Be careful not to confuse this with the 74 Blade, which is a frame mount, and not 74" either. They make an 84" boom blade which your 4310 would handle, but it is so wide, it is cumbersome. The 72" even when angled maximally, still will plow greater than the width of the tractor. I do not know much about the Curtis blade, but our local dealer says the lift system takes some fabricating to work. After seeing the JD blade, he said he liked it better. The moldboard is not quite as high though.

So do you have the 72" JD Blade then? I was told from my dealer that the blade roll back would have to be taken care of if I purchased a blade for the loader boom, I was very confused after that, did you have that issue with yours?

John Deere 72" boom mounted front blade (in place of bucket). Luckily you have the 430 model loader as the 420 does not have the hydraulic angling kit available. You will also need the third function hydraulic kit to run the hydraulic angling and 3rd scv kit for tractor. 72" blade p/n BW14677 $1282.00/ hyd angling kit p/n BW14753 $524.00 / third scv for tractor p/n LVB25084 $204.00 / 3rd function lines and hoses for loader BW14715 $315.00 - retail pricing plus tax and install. Or you can get the manual angle - put it on and enjoy without any other hydraulics needed. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

IB,

I am unsure what your dealer means there. I do have the 72" boom-mounted blade. It has worked great with no issues. The only issue you would encounter is the installation of the angling lever and extra hydraulic valve if you wanted hydraulic angling. You do not have to have them, but it is really nice with them. I am sorry I do not follow your dealer's statement.

The dealer said to me that he would need to weld a hook and chain the blade so that the roll feature of the bucket would be fixed, I was very confused after he said that. I better go ask somebody who really knows what he is selling before I go have extra welding done..

Well, not exactly true. CurtisCabs makes a 5' FEL plow that can be used with a 410 loader. It will cost about 2000.00 or so.
