I was quoted a price for a Kubota L2600 today with the front bucket of 14,000 I will be using this machine for around my hobby farm. skidding trees. moving wood chips. I like the idea this machine is gear driven and I can get it to creep. I will also be purchasing a roto tiller and rear snow blower. This price does not include the roto tiller or blower.

Do you think this price is in line. He wanted 14500 to start and the machanic told me he has had this machine for 7 months on his lot.He will also give me the first service for this price with him picking up the machine ans dropping off.

Thanks again,
Marky

Last sept i bought a L3000dt w/ FEL , woods 60 w/ slip clutch, atlas box blade and 16x16 disc's for $15,000.
Are you looking at a DT? the 4wd is well worth the extra money. trust me on that and i'm sure others will say the same thing.
I was dragging dead trees today to a burn pile and couldnt have done it without the 4wd.
Have you looked at the 3000dt? more hp and two stage clutch ,live pto.
I would think being still winter the dealer would want to move the unit that he has had 7 months. my dealer has gotten his large shipment in and is full with tractors.
try and get him lower.
the 50 hour service cost me about 140 bucks in materials. it's not that hard at all. the manuals have all the info in them.
just something to think about.

This is a L2600 DT with power steering, it would also have the LA452S FEL attachment. The machine is 4WD.
Thanks

Marky, MY personal opinion is the price isn't anything to do handstands over. More importantly, the L2600 is not the machine to do snowblowing or tilling with. You really need a live or independent PTO for that. Another problem is the transmission doesn't have enough speeds. Again, for tilling or snowblowing you need to go really slow. Hyrdo is best, but you should have at least a 12 or 16 speed transmission for your use. IMHO this dealer is just trying to dump this machine. If you mentioned those requirements to him, he should have immediately steered you away from the L2600. If you still speak to him, I would look at the B7800, much more suited to your requirements. I would keep looking and asking questions like you're doing.

If you're interested in the 2600 because the gear transmission allows you to go really slow, you really should be looking at a hydrostat. I'll go out on a limb here and say that there are few if any gear tractors that can be maneuvered as precisely and easily as a hydrostat tractor.

A 2910 would be about $2500 more than the price you were quoted. That's the route I took.

If you want to learn more about the pros and cons of gear vs. hydrostat, there is a ton of information on this site. The search feature is helpful here.
