Price Check Price on a B6100?

I've been looking at buying a tractor to maintain my land until I build a house. I found a '84 Kubota B6100 in some local classifieds. It looks to be in pretty good condition. I'm in the process of finding out how many hours it has on it and it's history. It comes with a rear blade and a rear finish mower. This would be perfect for my needs. I would use it to mow 1 1/2 acres and spread dirt. It's 2WD, 14hp, 6 forwards gears, 2 reverse. I just need a starting price. I really don't know what it would be worth, so anyone who can help please feel free to chime in.

As of now I don't have any more info on the tractor, so perhaps a "good" condition price and a "ok" condition price would help me!

Without being able to put the tractors side by side, it is not possible to compare condition, but maybe this will help. I traded in my 1983 B6100E to a Houston dealer for $1800. It had a known 600 hours since I had put an hour meter on it, ran good but had rusted sheet metal and other cosmetic problems. I had also added a ROPS to it. It also had turf tires in good condition.

I have the same tractor that u are looking at. B6100E is its actually name. 2wheel drive gear model. The problem with hours is an hour meter was an option on this model, so most dont have them. I know mine doesn't. I think the going price here in Canada is 4 -5 thousand. I'd start at about 2500 maybe less depending on the condition. Its a good tractor. Infact the one i have is older than me. Used to be my grandfather's only problem i have is with the battery but i just put a charger on it so its starts when i need it to. Goodluck with ur search.

Thanks for the reply. Yeh... I think the "e" means 2wd and gears. Hopefully this one has an hourmeter. I'm still waiting for the guys response. I guess it has enough power to level some sand?? I know 14hp isn't much but I have plently of time!

Thanks for the info. I would think $1800 is a good price. But I know a dealer isn't going to give top dollar. From the pictures I've seen, this one looks pretty good. No visible rust or dents.... tires appear pretty good as well. He's asking considerable more than $1800... but I'm not going to reveal the asking price until I get some more responses! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I want an unbiased opinion.

I sold my 4 WD B6100 this past spring for about $2600 with a tiller, belly mower and rear blade. It was a 1979 model. The tractor was strong the implements were rough, especially the blade and the belly mower. If I remember right it had around 1200 hours. I sold it to family for what the dealer offered in trade. So I assume I was selling a little on the low side.

Guess so...They go for a lot here in Canada. Theres a B6100 D a 4 wheel drive gear model, going for 5500. ITs in great condition but still. Well this is all in canadian as well. The dealer always gives u less then what its actually worth...how they make money off of it. I'd suggest you go take a look at this tractor. See if theres any fluids leaking out of it. And if it has low hours but doesn't look like it then its either had a hard life or the hour meter has flipped. BTW it should have enough power to level out sand. According to my manual you Can have a 5 foot blade on the rear. One consideration though. THe 3ph only has a lifting capacity of 300 lbs which isn't much at all, and the lower arms can support a max of 400 lbs. i dont use many 3pth implements so it doesn't effect me that much. The tractor is one strong runner though.

I went and looking at the tractor. It does not have an hour meter. I was pretty impressed. It's in great condition. I drove it around... everything worked on it, good tires, the paint is pretty good, all the lights worked, no rust... it looked like it was about 5-7 years old. I checked the oil, coolant and hyd. fluid... all was clean and filters looked like they had be changed recently. The guy that owns it bought it from an older guy that mowed 1 1/2 acres and towed a cart with it. He has the original books and service records with it. The owner bought it to mow his daughter's land (1 acre). She moved and he wants to get rid of it. I really like it!! But I tried to not act to impressed! With this info... what do y'all think it's worth?? The finish mower and rear blade was not there, but the guy told me he put new blades and bearing on the mower and that the blade has almost never been used and looks brand new.

Give me some thoughts... I need to make a move quickly!

Sounds like a good machine to me. Its a 3 cyl. 14 hp diesel motor. Hmm what kinda area do u have to cut grass? are there obstacles u have to cut around, because if it is a rear mower than its going to be hard to get a close cut to those obstacles...well atfirst u get better as u go along. So whats the asking price on the tractor? U still haven't mentioned that to us i wouldn't go over 3000, no way. 2500 maybe.
