I have an opertunity to buy a kubota l285 (hours unknown)with a little used woods bh 7500 and loader,frame mount. The tractor seems to run ok. I am very new at this. I need this for bsmt waterproffing and a new septic system. Will this tractor do the job? The asking price is 10,000. It is 2wd. I may also use it to get a gravel driveway ready for concrete. I may sell it after these projects. Any help you can give to a newbe is appreciated. Thanks.

I think the tractor would do the jobs you have - but the question would be how quickly and how well. The L285 with 2wd is on the light side for FEL earth work.
If you are willing to spend $10k one suggestion would be to look around for a 2wd commercial TLB (like maybe a Case 580) which would have much more grunt for digging and driveway prep. If you'd be willing to tie up $15 - $18k for a year or so, a heavier 4wd commercial TLB would do those jobs better and quicker. As with any used machine purchase you just need to be careful not to break anything major. Big repairs can spoil the economy of buy it - use it - sell it.
