Price Check Price of John Deere 990?

I'm thinking of buying a John Deere 990 4WD tractor. Can anyone tell me how much cheaper then the retail or MSRP I should be able to get this from the dealer for? Thanks for any help!

That's a low profit machine, so if you get 10% you're doing well.
If you get a loader, make sure the dealer tosses in a ballast box.

When I was shopping, I think the best price I could get my local JD dealer down to was about 18,900... List was just over 20,000 with the FEL and R-4's... if I remember correctly. Even using the Mahindra dealer against him for leverage... wouldn't budge. Brought home a new Mahindra 3525 the same day... absolutely no regrets, I love it. Great tractor, and much more tractor per dollar than the green ones. I have to admit, though, I bleed green at heart, and the 990 is what I wanted. But I couldn't justify the extra $$$$.

Add up all the retail prices of everything you need from the dealer. FEL, lights, blades, mowers, weights, etc. Think ahead and get everything you might need for the next year. Expect 8-11% off list for the package plus excellent financing from JD. The 990 is the big brother to the 790. Both are stone simple reliable machines that if taken care of reasonably, you can let your grandchildren inherit it. There is not a lot of markup in them so if you get the 8-11%, sign the papers.

Make sure to buy the JD insurance. It is dirt cheap, has excellent coverage and pays claims promptly. Full coverage for your new 990 would be less than $100 per year.

When I bought my 990 a year and a half ago the dealer wouldn't budge on the tractor but gave me 10-15% off on everyting else including the loader. So I bought a lot of implements. They also had a 0% interest deal going which included the free insurance if you got your loan from Deere.

The 990 is Rock Solid and does more than I could have ever imgined.

Here is a quote I got from a dealer almost a year ago exactly........ I worked the deal past this quote to get greater discounting on the attachments and a little on the package (no setup; free toothbar; weights; etc..); bought in November close to month end on a 2006 JD990, and (if I remember correctly) I ended up about 8-9% lower than list after the dust settled.




This is the latest quote I received from another JD dealer. Is this a good price given that it includes the wheel weights and all? I also have a quote for a 300CX FEL w/HD 61" bucket for $3500 and an LX5 RC for $1450.

(I have another dealer's quote for $300 less - but with no wheel weights; and a light duty bucket).

I bought the 990 a couple of weeks ago for 15170 with the R4 Tires. Pretty Happy with it so far.
