Price Check price for used kubota 7100

going to look at a used kubota 7100 tractor guy sounds reliable but doesn't know what year it is. has turf tires, 4wd, and says its in good shape doesn't leak anything no attachments included his asking price is $2300

is that reasonable and how do you define useage other than hour meter what about year? should be big enough for my use but I am concerned about turf tires also. don't really farm will use it for mowing small fields (own 8 acre) and most is in timber I am thinking turf tires would be okay since it won't be in much mud how do turf tires do in snow I figure they must be compareable to typical all terrain truck tires right ( I mean like your on/off road truck tires not the mudders) ? SHouldn't need ag tires when working in timber, grass, pastures?

Welcome to Tractorbynet. If the tractor is even in reasonable condition, the price sounds very good to me. I used to have a '95 B7100HSD with R1 (Ag) tires. I would not say turf tires are similar to all terrain tires. Turf tires are more like you see on riding lawnmowers; wide ballon tires is the way I'd describe them. Fine for mowing because they spread the weight over a larger area; less psi for less compaction. Not good for mud, and perhaps not as puncture proof as some R1 or R4 (industrial) tires. Since I don't play in the snow in Texas I'll have to let others tell you how they'll do there. Of course you can always change to another type of tire, but just in case you didn't already know it, if you do change, you have to change wheels as well as the tires.

thanks no I didn't know that about the tires used to run a JD 855 and 790 a lot. will be using this for mowing, trail clearing (brush hog?) nothing big and just occasional discing for food plots.

Like Bird said... if it's in decent condition that sounds like a good price to me. You can look at Machinery Link to find out what the going price is for that tractor. If you go to the link I posted.. look at the very bottom of the page and there is a link for "Used tractor price guide." Click on that and enter the info and that will give you prices on what it is worth.

Turf tires should be fine for mowing dry land but ags (R1's) will give you much better traction in mud and soft areas. You could always buy ags if you needed them... they are not that expensive for a tractor that size.
