What are people being quoted for 447 an 448 model hoes (dealer mounted)?
Also what are the + or- to each model. I have a 3320 and would like the most reach possible. Also has anyone mounted a thumb on there hoes? If so who manucatured it? Pics would be helpful.

Thanks

Sorry that I cant help with pricing...

I have the 47. It is great where I live, but I usually only need to go 2' deep. If I were doing it over I would move up to the 448. The reach is better, but the big reason is that it works on a larger range of tractors, llowing you to keep it if you ever move up, or giving a larger potential selling base if you sell it.

But the 447 is smaller and lighter, if those are a concern.

There is a thumb on eBay that is a kit, you weld it up, or have it welded, that looks pretty nice...

I really want the 448 but I keep hearing it's too big for the 3320. I may eventually get a 3720 so I'd have more hp and still use all my attchments. Has anyone purchased any thumbs on ebay? I really like the bradco thumb because of how it attches to the bucket pins but I don't know if it will work on JD hoes.

Thanks

The JD #7 is the size slightly smaller than what you are getting. I bought one 4 months ago for $6450 fully installed with the power beyond connections, JD subframe and 16" bucket. Do not get the smaller buckets. Since yours is not that much bigger, I would expect the price to be less than $7200

Thanks for the feedback Gord but I definatly want either the 447 or 448 for my machine. To tell you the truth those awesome curved booms on the hoes was what got me thinking JD before I bought one. I had already ordered a NH tc30 when I started looking JD. Once I saw the quality of the JD stuff it was a no brainer. I already have the power beyond kit installed. So I think the install should be quick. Does anyone know where to find some other JD items?
Like grill guards, fender flares etc. It seems JD's site really sucks for there listing of items. I really don't want to call the dealer everytime I inquire about a part. Also did anyone buy the JD service plan? You know the one with the home visits and warranty extension? If so how much? Was it worth it?

Thanks

I know it's been a while since you posted your question, and maybe you've already bought your hoe. I have the 448, which I use on my 4720. It's got quite a bit of power. I don't know how much smaller the frame is on the 3x20 tractors, but my guess would be that it could kind of toss the smaller tractor around a bit. Still, if you keep the throttle low and work carefully until you get used to it, you should be fine.

I also echo the comment about getting the larger bucket. I sure wish I had a bigger one. I've got the standard 12" and it's too small.
