price check please on a MF 30 7 ft. sickle bar mower

I found a MF model 30 sickle bar mower in good-excellent condition. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can you venture a guess on a price? TIA

I was at an auction a couple of month ago and saw a nice one sold for about $650, I thought it was a good price.

Several years ago I bought a MF 31 sicklebar (7ft) at auction for $550. Put about $200 in new parts into it to get it going.

Depending on how it looks they range from $500 to $1000. You can still get parts at most MF dealers. I have 2 customers that still run them and sell them parts

JLSmith...aside from these replies and the add I'm responding to, I haven't been able to find any other prcing information on the model MF 30 sickle bar mower. I have found a number of model 31 and 41 mowers for sale however. Do you know what the differences are between the models?

Is the 30 ran by a long belt or belt and wooden pitman rod?
cutters (sickles) and guards are available from dealers and online. Belts are from dealers or parts stores. The wooden pitman rod is usually a dealer itme unless you make one yourself.

The Sweet farm equipment dealer in Kentucky is offering to buy all belt driven mowers available. I am not in the business but a local jockey said he will pay 500 to 600 for a mower.

The MF 30 looks to me to be just a belt driven design.. no pitman arm.

Prices seem all over the place..retail prices generally seem to be 20%-30% higher than private sale....though I imagine retailers may go over the machines before sale. Found a IH 27v (pitman drive) in real good shape for 100 bucks...go figure.
