DK40SE HST
Hi everyone.
I got the following prices and wanted to see what the general thoughts were (I'm in the Cincinnati area - geographically):

DK35SE HST w/ 351 FEL, R4s, QA Loader, $19,400.
DK40SE HST w/ 401 FEL, R4s, QA Loader, $22,500.
(These prices include the first 50hr. service)

The 40 has the free MMM from Kioti thru the end of the month, but I really want a RFM (72" or 84" if possible). Dealer said they (Kioti) are trying to get rid of their MMMs so no trading is possible.

I've driven the DK35 and really liked it ergonomically! My only reason for wanting the 40 is the lift capacity but that's a lot desire for $2,900 and a 1300lb difference. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 401 is rated at 2,761lbs. vs. the 351 at 1,412lbs.

Let me know what you think.

By the way, you are and have been very helpful in my tractor education. Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi,
That is correct on the lifting capacities.
The other difference is that you are going from a 3 cylinder to a 4 cylinder which will run much smoother and give you much better low RPM torque. You also pick up more weight, more hydraulic output and larger tires. You get a lot for the price difference. Don't downplay the almost doubled lift capacity, it will come in handy.

I'd go with the 40, not question. I'd as I side note, I know it's free but I'd kill myself before I ever owned MMM again. Actually, I take that back, I have a little JD lawn tractor but all it does is mow grass. But the thought of a MMM on DK is  I didn't even know they made one for the DK line. As far as price I think I paid about the same for my DK45 w/ KL401 loader but that was over a year ago and things have gone up in price.

Like Mark I bought my DK40se a year ago. It's hard to imagine there has been an almost 20% rise in prices since then however. I'd double check with another dealer, perhaps one of the internet savvy dealers.

I'd also go for the 40 over the 35 unless you are just mowing and doing small jobs with the loader. 2700lbs of lift capacity and much more breakout force can be real useful. The 35 has almost as much horsepower (38 vs 41) but for some reason Kioti chose to give it a smaller rear axle and most importantly did not allow the KL401 loader to be used. I'd say the 35 would be a very nice machine for mowing and utility work but suffers by comparison to the DK40/45se otherwise.

Ditto on Mark's comments on the MMM. I had no idea they had one for the 40 and agree it makes little sense. I guess if it's free then it is a benefit but if that "freebie" is causing the dealer to withhold some discount then I'd rather have the discount to apply to a RFM, hog or flail.

Does anyone know about the MMM. Is it quick to attach and remove from the tractor. I assume that it is a drive over MMM so that you can attach it.

Anyone?

I don't exactly keep track of MMM developments but I thought JD was the only one with a true drive over MMM and that was for it's smaller tractors.

I don't either but I have never thought of MMM's and "quick" in the same sentence before.

No you can not drive over it!!
I kringe every time when I hear that about Deere..lets think about it for a second, your driving a 2,000 lb (deere) kioti (4,500lb) tractor over a metal pan with 4 points on the ground I don't care whos brand mower it is something has to give.
Especially if the 4 points are not on hard level surface. Guys take this how you want but that's my opinion.

So from your experience how easy is it to attach and remove the MMM and how long does it take.

Let me play devils advocate, why do you want a MMM in the first place?
