For the last 8 days it has rained. Rained enough on and off to make everything too wet to do anything with. I can't finish tilling or seeding our garden, the seed we have put down over a week ago now looks moldy and am afraid I will have to re-seed. The temperature barily has gotten over 50 and for the most has stayed under 40. My tractor sits in the garage and about all I can do with it is to talk to it. I can't spray dandelions or even mow the grass at which now it will have to be mown twice to get it where I want it. I have 10 yards of mulch I have to spread out and can't do that as the yard is way to soft. I have some painting to do outside but it is too cold and can't take a chance on the rain. Neighbor was involved in an accident so I feel I should mow his lawn for him this time at least until he gets back on his feet. We moved my daughters graduation party up to this coming week-end because my son is getting married in three weeks. So I have to get all of this stuff done by well in 5 days. Unless the forcast changes and it don't look to promising I won't make it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Too much rain? That figures. We're over 3" behind for the year and wishing for a little more rain. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have a twenty gallon sprayer that was an ATV sprayer that I converted to a wagon. I still use the 12volt pump. It is more designed for behind a garden tractor. The neighborhood wants to buy it from me as I want to convert it to my 3 point and put a pump on it. So I may just sell it to them and use the money for a 3 point one. Otherwise I can use it for life as my neighbors are the ones that put a bunch of money in it for pulling behind a garden tractor.

And for dandelions I use 2-4-D. Works pretty good but you do have to hit them at the right time. And I found spot spraying them works best with a 2 gal hand sprayer.

OK Murph I'll bite, what is the right time to spray dandelions with 2-4-D? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Inquiring minds want to know.

Mike,

If I knew the right time I would probably rich. For me it is guess and by golly. I may spray them once and get lucky and get them. But for the most part I may have to spray two or three times before I get them. In fact I very seldom hit it right the first time.

Well, it's the 18th and still raining. Yes I am starting to frown. I was able to mow yesterday but had to mow at 4". Maybe in a day or so I could mow again at 3".

The last time that I sprayed my yard for dandilions, my wife said that I killed several of her lovely flowers. She was so mad at me that she was ready to climb the wall backwards LOL. She said, you are NEVER to spray this yard again for dandilions. So, I have never sprayed the yard for dandilions since then. The thing that I use now to keep dandilions out of my yard is a Weedhound, that I bought at Lowe's. This thing is a trick to get down, and get dandilions out by the roots. You know something, by using this Weedhound, my yard hardly has any dandilions in it at all, plus now my wife is happy that I dont spray the yard for dandilions, and she doesn't get mad at me when I use the Weedhound to root out dandilions. I guess this Weedhound has been a life savor for me. At least, my wife hasn't got mad at me now for using the Weedhound on dandilions, and it has stopped her from wanting to climb the wall backwards LOL.

The water will never clear up until you get the hogs out of the pond. (You got to find what the trouble is, and eliminate it).
