Not sure if this is correct forum but has anyone had any experience rebuilding the Annovi Reverberi triple piston pumps. I have a Honda powered 2400 PSI unit that is about 15 years old and has had a tough life. Second pump just died (new in 2007)

Replacement pump (model XMV 3G26) is about 300 bucks but I'm thinking maybe I'll try fixing. Honda still going strong.

Anyone been through this?

I'm sorry, I can't help you, although I'm interested to see if someone else has a fix.
But thanks for reminding me to winterize my pressure washer before it gets much colder!

I cant help you with rebuild, but my pressure washer is over 12 years old and still going strong. All I do for winterizing is unhook the water hoses (input and output) then pull the starter cord till it quits pumping water out. Sometimes I will just crank it up and immediately kill it to remove all the water from the pump. It hasn't been damaged to date and it started life in Alberta Canada where we had -40 temps during the winters.

Depends on what has failed, if it's spraying water externally or filling the oil sump with water it's an easy fix, Provided parts are obtainable. Anything more serious id buy new

Guys- always drained it for winter. Plus, it had quite a few hours on it this season before it ceased pumping.

Winmac- Water in oil? Oil in site glass looks a little murky-like it might be an emulsion-suppose I should drain it-if that is the case then what?

AR is the largest manufacturer of triple piston pumps in the world (I read someplace) and all parts are readily avialable

Two most common problems with pressure washer pumps is unloader valve failure, and broken check valves. Or in my area damage to the aluminum pump head due to corrosion.

Thx Randy- Jody, Tech at pwoutlet.com has sent me info on checking unloader as first step-on schedule for next week!

as others have said, it depends on what is wrong with it. if ya need a new motor ya need a new motor. tear it apart and check things out.

i am on a well, with limited GPM and pressure. so a cheapest on sale unit i can find is about all my system can handle before the pressure washer starts throttling on/off repeatedly like it is sucking in air.

the few i have went through, bolts have sheared resulting in gears thrown, to case of pump cracking while in use, to unloader valve. it just all depends on what is wrong with it. get to it and crack it open. and see what is going on with it.

I rebuilt the triple pump in my old Sears/Craftsman pressure washer a few years back ... it may have been an A.R. ... don't recall offhand ...

Basically, the "rebuild" consisted pulling the pump apart and cleaning out the corrosion from the internal passages with a stainless steel wire brush (for cleaning the bore on a 12 gauge shotgun) and freeing up the unloader valve.

Worked fine for a couple years after that and then the unloader valve froze up again ...

It's currently sitting out in the garage, disassembled, waiting for a little more TLC ... in the meanwhile I replaced it with a Simpson with a Honda engine.

I'd say if you get it working again, make sure to always empty the pump after every use and fill it with some RV antifreeze at the the end of the season.
