Any body have one of these or opinions. Will it push my Miller 220 stick welder?
Thanks in advance

My Everlast inverter welder specs a generator with a THD of less than 5%. May want to look into that.

Most and best information I have ever heard is generator should be capable of 50% more power output that welder requires... Reason being that rotating mass of generator (rotor/armature) needs to be able to maintain inertia as generator bogs when there is high current flow when arc is first struck.... IF generator voltage drops to low it may damage electronics in welder....

IN reality you are going are only be able to use one 240 volt outlet of generator and largest output is controlled with 42 amp circuit breaker (at NEMA 14-50R receptacle) ....... And be aware the power output when running generator on propane is less that on gasoline....

Not knowing power requirement of Welder, but yeah it "should " be capable of running your welder.... IT may even be bigger (more expensive) than your needs.....

Appreciate the comments. I did go ahead and pulled the trigger. Thanks FEMA!
Will test it in a little bit with propane so I don't need to clean out gas if I need to return.
I have and old school welder so fingers crossed I also want to run a small compressor with my plasma cutter. Not at the same time of course. High hopes because there is no way the 8 x 20' tank will make it to a power source.
Plus the wife agreed so more tool in my bucket ;) ;)

I once asked if my Honda 2200i would run a small flux core welder. Most responses were "Negative".
Nothing wrong with trying, though so, try I did.
Was able to make the repair on my gate just fine.

That generator should handle your welder fine.

I run an Everlast 200STi and a Millermatic 175 on a generator they were discarding at work a few years ago. It's a Leroy Somer 6KW run by a Kubota diesel. I stripped the defunct lighting and saved the steel parts for misc. fab material. Makes a nice tow-behind unit.

I bought a similar gen (duramax I believe) from Walmart (12kW) a few years ago for the very same reason. My shop doesn't have but 40 amps max and I would only be welding on occasion anyway. Mine has a 50 amp receptacle and is dual fuel. It said it drops down about a 1k watts when changing over to propane. I have only run gas in it thus far though.

One day I will actually use it for welding, bought the welder (lincoln ac 225) about a year ago, its still in the box. Had hopes of making a few ladder stands as my first projects.

Retirement can't come soon enough. 😀
