I have a BlackMax Honda powered power washer; I replaced the entire pump assembly two years ago. The other day the housing that the garden hose threads (inlet tube) onto broke off. I ordered a replacement; it took me about an hour with a pipe wrench to get the old one off/out. Installation of the new one was easy.

After starting the unit up, I can tell that the pump is running but not at full output and the water pressure coming out is much lower than normal. I tried two different nozzles; I can only guess that with my wrenching and the resultant deformation of the old part that some shaving fell down into the unit is restricting flow? I used my shop vac after the repair to try and get anything out that may have fallen down into the interior. Does anyone have a thought? Or two? :)

Debris could cause the unloading valve to stick and not make pressure

Good thought. I pulled that out, seems fine - free movement.

My pump crapped out in my generac a couple years ago and I just got a whatever Chinese one off Amazon. The direct replacement was stupid money. It bolted right on and had more pressure than the factory one. Only drawback is the hose connection is facing down and not off to the side. Still works great though.
