Power Steering

I have a John Deere 755 and the power steering has suddenly given up! Any suggestions as to what may be the problem? Also any info on the power steering valve would be appreciated as I feel it must be something to do with it.

Can you be a little more descriptive of your problems? Is it working at all? Making any noises?

These are from www.jdparts.com and available for free after you register (free also). It's the same basic system the parts guys use at the dealership.

Concerning this problem I was out snow plowing my drive way and had the same issue and had to park the tractor using the wheel brakes. I need to replace the hose on the power steering cylinder (Right side) but the manual fails to list the part number. A answer here soon would be great!

So you have a 755 also?

I did not post the "key" that has the parts numbers, the hose is probably NLA from JD anyway as a "part", but if you take the old hose to them or any local hydraulic shop you can get one made.

Would of been helpful s heck If you did post the list that has the part number. Taking the hose will not do at times. Good for length Estimate. If you would of given the number it would be so much easier. But all fixed now since we found it on the JD website itself and helps having a Grandfather who is a Patent Attorney, Plus his company (I believe owns Polen Implement[JD]) He works for Electrolux. PITA to get the hose out tho since we had to remove a plate that is part of the New front end loader made by Woods.

But I did give the address to the JDParts web site so YOU could have got it for yourself. I even have a tutorial linked in my signature that tell you how to use it.

I have no idea why you need a patent attorney who works for electrolux to help you get the part number either...

Easier? Only if you want to buy the hose from a dealer, who should be able to give that part number anyway.

Easier (and a lot less expensive) is taking the hose to a good hose shop. They can identify the hose, length, and fittings, and make you a new one, often for a lot less than the dealer.
