I'm going to add power steering to the B6200 and was wondering if anyone has done this or has some advice for me. I have a power steering drive from a lift truck (char-lynn v20f) and a 6" stroke 1 1/2" bore cylinder. The control valve will completely replace the manual steering box and the cylinder will be placed between the tractor frame and the drag link. The only problem I see so far is that when the cylinder extends the steering wheel makes 2.25 rev and for the retract it only makes 1.5 revs, but I think I can live with this. The only way I could see to fix this would be to use a double ended cylinder and place it directly between the wheels where the tie rod now goes, but a new cylinder I think would be cost prohibitive. How does this sound?

let me know how it works out. My B7100 has left me with very sore elbows and my budget does not allow for upgrading.

Go to www.pirate4x4.com/forum/

Go to the general 4x4 forum and do a search on ram steering or orbital valves or hydraulic steering or hydro steering

This is an incredibly popular conversion on Rockcrawling rigs. You will find most people don't mind the difference in wheel rotation when using a single, single ended ram.

Roy: Last spring, I added the Kubota power steering kit to my low hours '87 B 8200- and posted a photo or two. The kit was assembled by Kubota here in the USA, and works like a charm- no more aching sholders after working with the FEL in a tight spot for an hour! The control valve was installed on the steering arm link at one end, the top of a double acting cylinder at the other, and the cyl. was attached to the steering arm at one end, fixed to the frame at the other. Pushing and pulling on the control valve actuates the cylinder. Doesn't seem to take much hydraulic power to use it, and the FEL operation isn't noticably affected. Best $700 I ever spent, almost. Try to find a Kubota kit, if you want a painless solution. I found mine as old stock at a dealer, via the internet.

Any idea where the photos are I tried a search but didn't find any pics. The kit you have sounds like the first idea I had until I got the orbital valve. the only thing that concerns me is the difference in turns to lock from the left and right. I will try the set up first but might have to change to a double cylinder if I don't like the steering feel.

Sorry- I failed to see your question until now! I will post a picture or two. Varmint.
