Power Steering Hoses

If you are going to buy the Yanmar aftermarket Power Steering unit, don't even bother to install the hoses. Just save your time and effort and have new strong hoses made before you install it. The ones that come with it are the cheapest, no good junk that they could find.

The first one lasted about 3 hours, the 2nd one about 10 hours.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear it comes with such junk! Hoses are expensive! Thanks for letting us all know. PS was an option I was considering.

It came from Len who post on this forum. I don't know where he's located but he's a dealer.

When I installed mine, I went straight to the local NAPA dealer and had new ones made. I had no idea how old the ones in the box were.

They don't look old but they're plastic. Just won't hold up.

For the price that the power steering kit costs you'd think they would use good stuff.

There was a third one that didn't look too good so I went ahead and replaced it while I was replacing the one that was leaking.

I wonder if some of the Genuine Yanmar Parts are 30 year old stock.

I paid a lot for a genuine clutch safety switch. Then the rubber 'accordion' around the switch plunger cracked after a few days. I was refused an exchange or refund.
