Power loss on hoe end

Hello, I have a John Deere 410D backhoe It starts and drives great, the front loader bucket will pickup anything you hook it to and will scoop and load dirt, gravel or whatever like no other and has all the power you would ever need. But when I try to dig a trench or anything, it is very weak and you really have to work to get a bucket full of soft dirt. I never have changed the hydraulic filter, filters and don't know where they are. Does anybody have any ideas what it could be?

Tom,
I believe this model used a pump that requires a feed back signal from the back hoe control valve. If the loader and steering both work then I would suspect that the pump control is not getting the feedback signal from the back hoe valve. Not exactly sure how or where you would look or check for this signal though. I believe the filters are up under the floor boards.

If your running the hoe off of the rear remote, disconnect the hoses and reinstall them on the QDs. Every so often, one of mine pops off just enough to become disconnected, yet it looks connected.

Check for a relief valve for that spool, might be leaking by.
