Poultry Houses coming down!

Some of you may have been following some of my projects, one of which was to sell off all the equipment in these poultry houses, and have them taken down to the clay pads. Well, it's underway.

I didn't have metal trusses in these three 40'x500' houses, so I'm not getting the best $$s from the contractor, but I am getting a new tin roof on my hunting cabin on the property as a part of the deal, that I like.

I'll post more pics as it moves along. He estimates 6-8 weeks for completion.

Yea, we've had some fun on the Honda 250 Recon in them... just a bit dusty

My son suggested a nice shooting range, others said I would need the storage one day. I said I will never have that much crap.

The property I bought had a 72'x84' barn (w/concrete pad) in addition to these three 40x500 broiler houses.
I don't think I need more space. :licking:

Tell me about it, it's what I've been needing for quite a while, after having a 12'x36' shed for years.
This is the Taj Mahal of barns to me.

Just wondering did ya try and see if anyone wanted to RENT them for brooding or even as storage>? Seems they (at least pics) showed some great shape lumber, hope it is recycled.

Can you share the history on these buildings? When they where put up, how long where they in operation and why they went out of business?

Why did you decide to tear them down? Were they that outdated that nobody would put birds in them? How old were they?

I'm curious as to the life. I own and operate 4 currently. Mine are the metal trussed buildings but I wish they were stick built like yours. They leak air at every truss.
