I'm trying to identify a specific port on my FEL control valve. The port in question is the P1 port on top. This port has a plug in it at this time as you can see from the side view in the picture. Could this be the Power Beyond port?

The lower T1 port on the control valve is connected to the "IN" port of the hydraulic block (left-hand port in picture). The right hand connection goes to the "IN" on the control valve. The one behind is the "return" line from the control valve.

Through some Q&A's in an earlier post, the advice I received was to plumb in a new control valve between the T1 valve port and "In" of the hydraulic block to control a grapple, which makes sense. However, this P1 outlet got me thinking it could be an alternate output.

If the P1 port is power beyond, then I could take-off from that port for the grapple valve. Of course I may be wrong, in which case it's back to the original plan.

I did a search on the web for a schematic or any other info on this valve, which is a Hydrotech, but could not find anything on it.

Thanks for your input.

Generally, the hyd blk is the first component after the pump, and then you have the OUT port on the hyd blk going to the FEL valve IN port, then the PB port from the FEL port with adapter goes back to the hyd blk and then to the remote or 3pt.

The PB from the FEL could go directly to a remote valve IN port, and the remote valve PB port would go back to the hyd blk.

PB ports are located differently in hyd valves, but most are in the center side of the valve. PB ports will also have threads inside the port to install an adapter, be it a hex screw or a PB fitting.

Tank ports will always go to tank.

The pictures are not good enough for me to ID the PB port. Look good around the large hex plug for some letters like BY,PBY, CO, etc

The large hex plug is probably the PB, as the tank port is already being used.

Okay....some more pics...maybe this will help JJ....I partially removed the valve from the mounts to examine the ports and there is no port that is labelled BY,PBY, CO, etc..There are also no ports on the center side, on either side of the control valve. In picture #3, the rear port/line that lines up with the P1 port on the front of the control valve (the one behind the green colored marker plug) is coming in from the "out" port of the hydraulic block, if that helps any. Thanks for taking the time to look.

Can you remove the hex plug on the side and take a picture of the inside of the port.

I am thinking the hex plug on the top is the relief valve.

From the hyd blk, you would have a line going to the IN port on the FEL,

Can you trace your tank line and tell me where it is going from the FEL valve?

Usually all tank lines go to tank line, which can be teed to couple all tank lines.

If they did it wrong, they would use the out/tank port to feed the hyd blk and 3pt, which in my opinion is not correct.

If your valve is PB capable, we can fix the situation.

What is the line with the white or gray tape hooked to?

Hi Leejohn.....the line with the ninety degree fitting (identified as T1 on the valve) coming off the bottom of the valve sporting the white tape goes to the "in" port of the hydraulic block...this would be the left-hand port shown in picture number 2 in the first post at the top of this page. The right-hand "out" port line of the block in the same picture goes to the rear of the control valve (picture #3 in post three above) the line directly behind the one with the green colored QC dust plug.

Here is a screen print from the shop manual, explaining the hydraulic block:Hydraulic Block-shop manual.jpg

Hope this helps....thanks for checking it out.

JJ: I tried removing the plug with an allen key however it's in there quite tight....I need a 6mm allen bit for my dewalt impact tool...I'll try again when I pick one up.
