What a surprise it is to see the front tire of my DK45 just flopping around loose! I must have snagged branch stub or something in the valve stem (which is now missing). Why do these things always happen when the tractor is in some really remote, almost-inaccessible part of the woods? What a long way to lug a flat, half-dismounted tire (at least it was a front!).
I dropped it off at the shop this morning and they said I should be good to go by the end of the day.
The FEL makes a really wonderful jack, by the way!

I did that on the Ck30....I suspect it was "operator error" by having not checked tire pressure recently. Make sure they clean all the dirt and brush out of that rim or the bead will forever have a slow leak until you get fed up and take it back off and clean it(ask me how I know)

Yep, half a mile back in the woods when a stick decided to rid the radiator fan of all it's fins....at least it was a nice day for a walk.

I did it with my CK30 too. I picked up a nail and had a slow leak. I had a large rock in the FEL and one in the thumb on the bh. I turned fairly sharp to line the bh up with the area I was going to drop that rock and couldn't figure out why the tractor wouldn't turn normally. It didn't take me long to figure out. I managed to re-seat the bead using a ratchet strap and after realizing it was a slow leak, drive it a couple KM to my mechanic to plug the tire. Did it 2 times that week, both in the same tire, only knocked it off the rim that one time though.

next time, just block the front axle pivot and drive it in slowly..

When I bought my CK20 they did install a little plate in front of the valve (four tires). You can actually see scratches from rocks and branches hitting the plate. Very usefull detail!

Triple R, I used this type stem when my valve stem broke, there are no guards on my wheelsr..It has worked well and is short enough to keep from snagging? I paid about the same for it.

My wheels have the stem guards, but a stick at just the right angle can still reach the stem. If the guard were threaded to take a cap (like a threaded-pipe cap) I could just cover it up that way but still screw off the cap to check the air. If it happens again, I'll definitely make an effort to implement a solution.
