Do you ever need to shorten a chain temporarily?

use a male and a female hook (see photo)

The orange (what else) pvc pipe holds a short and a medium length pry bar for assisting in attaching and removing implements.

If they are installing fibre optic cable in your area, they will have a lot of short pieces they would love to get rid of, Orange, Green, Red, Black and Blue. They match most of our tractors, very thoughful

Good idea with the hooks. I sometimes whish my chain was 10' instead of 20'. I'm going to pick up the two hooks next time I am shopping!

Just to add another way to shorten your chain.

You can use a load binder to do the same thing if you have one laying arround.
