Used my 3720 cab heater for first time tonight. Temp was 45 outside and the heat coming out was not very warm. I thought the heater would be too hot at that outside temp. Also had major condensation inside on the glass. Tractor temp gauge was about 1/3 way to redline. Engine too cool? Anyone else have problems with cab heater?

My heat works great on mine 3720,I can't leave it on high very long and I don't get condensation inside on the glass, try turing on the a/c to stop getting the condensation.Check your cab fiter,I have to clean mine weekly in the dust.

minimax is right. check the filter or talk to the dealer if it's clean. At 45 mine will have you reaching for the switches or the door handle.

radman, you should even be able to get heat with the AC on and the red temp knob turned to max heat.

I had the knob turned to max heat. The air coming out was just slightly warm. The tractor only has 20 hours on it and about 5 hours of slight dusty mowing with the rest in clean air. I had the tractor running about 20 minutes so the heat should have been hotter.
The windows also had fairly severe condensation after running the heater for 30-45 seconds. I was in the cab several minutes before turning on the heat without any condensation. Leak in the heater core? Something definitely seems wrong. I'll check the water level and clean out the air cleaner. Called dealer today and he is checking into the problem. I can guarantee I will need to call them in a few days to remind them. The main sales guy is a real freindly, low pressure, older gentlemen, but it seems I am more knowledgeable than he is at times. They seem to be kind of clueless sometimes.

I still have the problem with the electric hydraulic diverter defaulting to the rear hydraulics rather than the loader. Dealer took 1 week to hear back from JD tech support and confirmed that is wrong. Duh. I even told them about it when I took it back to install the radio but they seemed as though they didn't know how it was to work. They offered to come out and fix the diverter problem at my place but I am sure I will have to call and remind them. Will probably haul it back again to fix the heating issue.

Is there a valve (where the heater hose connects to the engine) that shuts off the water flow to the heater? A lot of cab heaters have these so that there is no heat thrown during warm weather.

radman, make sure the blue knob is turned to the low side of cold and the red knob to the high side of heat.Otherwise the cold set on high will cancel out the heat set on high.

Also running the AC with the heat on should keep the fogging up to a minimum, with the heavy equipment I run it seems to work. If you shut off the AC and run the heat it fogs up the windows.

Like Jim said look for a twist valve where the heater hose connects to the engine. We always used to shut these off in the summer to help the AC work better in the summer.
