I think we need a politics forum on this site. I certainly come here to read about a lot more than just tractors. I come here to read about Pole Barns, Welders, Rural Living, etc.... I know that political issues get heated and may drive some people away. But if we had a Politics forum, the moderators could move posts that become "politicized" to the Politics forum and keep the other forums "pure." And I, for one, really like to read the views of others...particularly ones with whom I disagree. It helps me understand their views better. Just a thought.

This has been discussed numerous times before. TBN is about tractors and all things related. Plenty of other places on the Internet for discussing politics. If you have other suggestions, I suggest sending a PM to Muhammad.

marrt,

I for one have very “strong” political views. I have learned never to discuss these issues with people I do not know very well. I think it is best politics are kept from this forum. This is got to be one of the friendliest places on the internet; I vote we keep it this way.

Just my opinion,

Gary

I agree with Hakim. Too many people will leave or not reply to others posts when they need help becasue they don't share the same views as the poster. Let's leave politics out. Why ruin a good place to hang out.

I agree, NO...

Sorry, I have some strong views myself. And like many others I get irritated by certain points of view. I have become a very loyal TBN reader for the nice, helpfull, friendly atmosphere. If politics or religion were allowed, I as well as many others, I'm sure, would become frusterated and inadvertantly become less pleasent to speak with. Let's keep this site friendly and fun, there are many other places out there you could speak your mind in that area.

I reckon there are plenty of forums online to discuss politics.

Adding such a forum to TBN would be a dire mistake, IMHO.

Don't get me wrong...I love to argue (yep...argue) politics, but it's just too polarizing a subject to add to this wonderful TRACTOR web site.

No we don't.

Having a general political forum would not be a good idea. I know for myself that I would probably end up alienating too many people /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. However, a forum where we could discuss agricultural politics might be a good idea.
