I am a fairly new poster, been lurking and learning for awhile. Ended up with a MF 1528 TLB. Thought I would post what my newest project will be.
I have been planning for quite awhile and finally settled on a 1400 SF 3 bay garage. 26 x 56 with a 2 x 28 recess removed on the front left. So one half is 24 x 28 and the other is 26 x 28. Using a truss with a 12/12 slope on front and a 4/12 rear slope. Will have a 10 x 32 carport on the back for the tractor and implements. The OH doors will be 9 x 8. Will actually have 3 man doors. Bought all my windows Anderson used VGC. The doors are fiberglass with full glass and 6-1/2" jambs that I picked up for $150 each. Board and Batten siding. The front will have a 14 x 24 drive through with an island containing 2 restored Texaco Tokheim 300 gas pumps (1955). Also have a 39" lighted Texaco star for the gable peak over the pumps and an 8' vintage Texaco sign that will be 21' to the top when mounted.
Garage will be used to store and work on a 53 Chevy tin woodie and a 59 Chevy Fleetside pick up. Will also be used to garage my 97 diesel GMC cargo van that I run on waste veg oil. The filtering system will take up space as well.
The site was prepared level last week. Built into a 10 degree southern hillside. I seeded the bank behind with clover and annual rye to control any erosion. Am getting prices together on materials. Have ordered some. Will build with some help from my son's FIL. Expect to get closed in for around 23k. Will finish the 26 x 28 end on the inside as time and $ permits. I will start post hole this week. Will try to figure posting pictures later.
